The G.O.D. Campout is held at the Defa’s Dude Ranch on the southern slope of the beautiful Uinta Mountains. It is approximately 2 hours drive from both Salt Lake City and Provo.
There are several camping options available for our participants.
At the Ranch:
If you want to be in the middle of the fun, reserve a tent site on the ranch itself. The ranch has showers and bathrooms, but is very busy throughout the campout. There are several firepits, but they become communal during the campout. Reservations can be handled by contacting _____________.
The following rules apply on the ranch:
- PLEASE NO PETS ALLOWED (if you bring a pet we will have to ask you to leave)
- Depending on Forest conditions Campfire Restrictions maybe imposed.
- If you desire a campfire, please provide your own firewood.
- Quiet time is from 12am to 7am – Your consideration is appreciated.
- No ATV’s Trail Bikes or Bicycles allowed in Camp Area.
- Please park in designated area’s only.
- No firearms/fireworks are allow on the ranch.
National Forest Campgrounds:
If you want a little more space and solace, there are several National Forest Campgrounds near the ranch. They are as follows:
Hades is the closest to the ranch, located less than half a mile away. It has 14 sites, both RV and Tent sites. All sites have a fire pit and picnic table. Vault Toilets.
Aspen is the lowest in the canyon, and the first campground you will pass after leaving the main highway. It is located 3.8 miles from the ranch, so you will have more of a commute to campout activities, but much more quiet and solace for downtimes. It has 32 sites with both RV and tent sites. All sites have a fire pit and picnic table. Vault Toilets.
Iron Mine is the most remote, located 1.6 miles above the ranch. It is generally the quietest campground due to it’s location, but harder to get to than the ranch or lower campgrounds (still accessible via a passenger car). It has 16 sites, both RV and tent sites. All sites have a fire pit and picnic table. Vault toilets.
The national forest campgrounds tend to fill up quickly, so reserve early if you want to stay at any of them. Reservations can be made at recreation.gov (links above).
Hotels:
The nearest Hotels are located in Duchesne (1 hour away from the ranch), Daniel’s Summit Lodge (1:15 away), and Heber (1:30 away)
